Strong: So the crown is an update to your translator. Does that mean you no
longer need the unit in your lip?

=20

Waters: That is... accurate.

But Karen could sense Chloe's reluctance. She thought she could understand
why. The translator in Chloe's lip was familiar, more familiar than the
crown. But it wasn't a good idea to keep something in your body if you
didn't need it. Better to suggest it now rather than wait. Chloe had the
choice to decline; it was her body and she was the patient, and the broken
unit was doing her no harm, according to the tricorder scan. But if it
wasn't needed and Chloe would agree.

Strong: Would you like me to remove it?

=20

Waters: Remove it?

=20

Strong: It would be a simple procedure, medically speaking. But if you're
not ready, it doesn't have to be done immediately, if you need more time.

=20

Waters: What would that... involve?

=20

Strong: I would administer a local anesthetic and make a small incision,
then remove the unit, then close you up. There would be no scarring; the
incision would be very small.

Waters: response

=20

Strong: It would take about half an hour. We can either do it now or
schedule another appointment, and if you'd like, Mandy can stay with you.
Or, you can have time to think about it.
