*((Landing Field & Hospitality Gateway, Suraya Bay, Risa))*

With his new toys securely stowed in the mostly empty rear bay of the Argo,=
=20
Geoff dug into his small bit of luggage for something he'd made by hand on=
=20
their trip to Argentum. He'd had to scavenge a few palm fronds from the=20
hydroponics bay aboard the Thor to make this replica, but as he pulled the=
=20
woven hat back on his head and lowered the boarding ramp, he was=20
immediately glad. Risa was breathtaking and tropical and spectacular,=20
according to the brochures. To Teller, it was a frying pan and he was the=
=20
bacon. The bright mid-afternoon suns, so praised for their invigorating=20
warmth, felt like twin searchlights focused on his already crisping skin. =
=20

With hat on head and scowl firmly planted on his face, Teller jogged across=
=20
the apron of the landing field and into the first 'hospitality gateway,'=20
where men and women, wearing little more than their perfect smiles, greeted=
=20
each and every visitor like an old friend long missed. Only momentarily=20
distracted, Geoff found a helpful staff member that wasn't actively trying=
=20
to disrobe him and was pointed on towards their party on the beach. =20

Geoff huffed so loudly at mention of the beach several staff members all=20
but tackled one another in their rush to console him. =20

He began to see what the brochures were talking about.=20

*((Some time later, Southend Beach))*

The party was in full swing by the time Geoff finally made his way to the=
=20
beach and even he could appreciate the awesome beauty of their natural=20
surroundings. A stunning cliffside vista, with the roar of the ocean=20
breaking against the rocks, served as an incredible backdrop for easily the=
=20
largest BBQ he'd ever seen. Wil, the mad master-chef in a gold Starfleet=
=20
apron, was running from one end to the other, checking temperatures and=20
adding seasonings or brushing on sauce. The breeze off the bay blew the=20
savory aroma to him and Teller was all but lifted off his feet in=20
carnivorous ecstasy. =20

He made his way over, fully intent on grabbing whatever was ready with his=
=20
bare hands when Wil stepped away from the grill. =20

Ukinix: Everyone? ::rubbing hands together:: Can I have your attention=20
please?

Teller: Really hope the next words out of you are 'foods ready,' cause I'll=
=20
burn before it does!

Any: Response

Ukinix: OK, food's about 10 minutes away, ::gesturing to cooler box::=20
plenty of drinks and mixers over there so just ask ::gesturing to=20
Abyrinthe:: "Captain Rahman" here for a drink if you want one ::Looking=
=20
at Jansen:: Commander Orrey, can you come over here please?

Geoff's eyebrows shot up at a mention of the Skipper, but when Wil gestured=
=20
over to a small, dark haired woman currently distributing Mai Tais Teller=
=20
didn't make the connection. =20

Orrey: Response

Ukinix: There's something wrong with this picture, there's nothing in your=
=20
hand. I think you need to ask the Captain for a drink.

Orrey/Abyrinthe: Responses

Geoff smirked and took a closer look at the 'Captain,' with her clumsily=20
painted on spots and oddly frumpy hair.

Teller: I don't see it ::Grinning to Wil:: I think you're getting ripped=
=20
off, mate.=20

Any: Response

Ukinix: This is a team building exercise, and there's nothing like having a=
=20
bachelor party for team building. ::Turning to Jansen:: Lieutenant=20
Commander Jansen Orrey, we all hope you're having a fun time, even if it=20
did start off being kidnapped by a mighty and lovable Klingon warrior.

Orrey: Response

Geoff winced for the poor counselor - a surprise ambush by G'var was a=20
terrifying experience that Geoff had been on the receiving end of more than=
=20
once. His survival was more a testament to her compassion then to any=20
martial ability he possessed. =20

Any: Response

Ukinix: ::smirking:: We're here to celebrate this man's impending end to=20
his freedom, but also the beginning of something wonderful and beautiful=20
with Raissa and Natalia Moonsong. But before that, ::looking at Jansen::=
=20
Commander, you've been a counselor for many people on the Veritas, past and=
=20
present, and you've taken care of all of us in your own relaxed way, and I=
=20
think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say we all appreciate what you=
=20
do for us. But now it's time for *us* to prescribe what's best for you,=20
and I think, our shared professional opinion, is that you need to let loose=
=20
this afternoon and tonight and have fun.

Teller: Here here! ::Geoff raised a glass that was, at this point, more=
=20
umbrella than cocktail:: Cheers! =20

Any: Responses

Orrey: Response

Ukinix: Now Jansen, we know that you're normally ice cold, so I'm going to=
=20
set a challenge. I'd like anyone who'd like to share a funny or caring=20
story about Jansen to come up, and let's see if we can make him blush,=20
laugh or cry.

*(OOC: If you have any fun/good memories of sims you've written with=20
Jansen, please optionally have your character come up and tell everyone=20
about it)*

Geoff looked around at the suddenly bashful crowd. Jansen had managed to=
=20
touch each and every one of them in some way or another, but it seemed like=
=20
few had the words to express what they were feeling. An ironic problem,=20
considering Jansen's gift for getting people talking. Teller cleared his=
=20
throat and stepped forward. =20

Teller: If I might, I'd like to remind Jansen of a meal several of us=20
shared...nearly a year ago now. We closed up the coffee shop and pushed=20
some tables together to have a big family meal. Kelrod over there made a=
=20
savory roll that I still lay awake thinking about, and Wil made some=20
chocolate thing which was so good it forever ruined all other chocolate=20
desserts for me. =20

Geoff crossed his arms, remembering the moment fondly=20
. =
=20
The food had been spectacular, but what had made the night so memorable was=
=20
something very different. He turned his attention to Jansen and smiled=20
warmly. =20

Teller: Near the end of the night, I saw you sitting there with Raissa &=
=20
Natalia, smearing chocolate cake across that beautiful little girls face,=
=20
and for just a second that cool detracted facade of yours split wide open. =
=20
You radiated warmth and contentment on those two, and they reflected it=20
right back. It's was beautiful. And then Natalia threw cake at your=20
face. It was hilarious. Don't know if I'll ever be one, Jansen, but that=
=20
night you showed me the kind of father and husband I'd want to be. That=20
I'd try to be. =20

Geoff raised his glass in salute.

Teller: So here's to ya, Jansen - You're a good man. Sl=C3=A1inte!

Any: Responses

Drinks were raised, consumed and refilled only to be raised and consumed=20
again and again as the groom to be was celebrated by his friends. When the=
=20
last celebrant finally returned to their chair and empty glass, Wil began=
=20
giggling to himself before reaching into a nearby duffel and digging out a=
=20
small, plush toy. =20

Something about it looked suspiciously familiar, as did the mischievous=20
grin on Wil's face. =20

Ukinix: Give it a press on its chest?

Doll: FALLHHHASLLPPPPPPPP!=20

Orrey: Responses

Geoff was laughing so hard he could barely breath. That had certainly been=
=20
one of his...less than well thought out ideas. =20

Teller: I think Wil just regrets turning down the opportunity to shoot me=
=20
himself. =20

Ukinix: I will never forget that moment=20
as=
=20
long as I live.=20

Teller: Honestly, I never understood the fuss - I was wearing a helmet! =
=20
And it was a mild seizure! Who hasn't had one of those? =20

Geoff looked around at the perplexed expressions on every face.=20

Teller: Really? Nobody? Huh. =20

Any: Responses

Ukinix: Everyone, charge your Mai Tais. ::Raising glass:: Congratulations,=
=20
Commander. We wish you a loving future with Raissa and Natalia. To Jansen=
!

Teller: Cheers!=20

Any: Responses

Orrey: Responses

Famished, Teller moved in as soon as Wil stepped back to the grill. His=20
mouth was watering before he even grabbed a plate. =20

Ukinix: ::To everyone:: Alright, food's ready, grab a plate and come over=
=20
to the barbie, let's eat!

Any: Responses

*((OOC: Happy to backsim more here if anybody would like to))*

Standing to one side as Wil slung meat onto plates with a practiced hand,=
=20
Geoff devoured a sausage in a few bites and moved on to some other, still=
=20
smoldering meat. It was heavenly. After a few minutes of gorging himself,=
=20
the crowd had dispersed a bit and Geoff realized he could briefly catch=20
Wil's attention. =20

Teller: You've outdone yourself, Wil. Can't believe you found a way to=20
top that crazy pub crawl. =20

Ukinix: Response

Teller: This place is incredible. How'd you find it?
