((Engineering, Deck 11, USS Atlantis)) :: Por'kus rubbed one hairy hand over his face as he stifled a massive yawn= . Last thing he wanted to do was have to listen to another pep talk from so= me officer, even if it was the captain. Fortunately he had got here early e= nough to have his pick of seating. As a result he was wedged in between two= power conduits and sitting on a small ledge. This way if he fell asleep he= was less likely to fall over. Fortunately the captain arrived and jumped r= ight into his speech. :: Brell: Good day, everyone and thank you for managing to get back aboard so = promptly. I am pleased to report repairs on the local power grid were 100% = successful and the Caraadian's wanted me to convey their utmost thanks to y= ou for assisting them. :: Por'kus just yawned. He had managed to avoid that work detail. Just the = idea of having to work for hours in that cold made his manhood shrivel up. = Besides as good an engineer as he was he preferred to work with tech that h= e knew and understood, not some weird alien stuff with no instructions or m= anuals. :: Dermont: Aye, lads. You all busted tail. Well done. Por'kus: Brown noser. :: Por'kus mumbled under his breath. :: Brell: I have called you all here today to announce an exciting project. :: Then the captain tapped on one of the side consoles and brought up a dia= gram of deck 13. A quick glance showed that they were in for a lot of long = hours, it looked like a complete overhaul and them without a single Federat= ion drydock within weeks of their location. :: Brell: We are refitting deck thirteen! Dermont: Big refit, sir. Some really wall-bustin'! :: Por'kus glanced over at the young man, then looked away as he mumbled ag= ain. :: Por'kus: Knowing my luck I'll end up on his work detail. Brell: The Marine Briefing room, replaces lab 16. Marines training area re= places labs 17, and 18 and the special storage area beside them. This will = be the area that will require the most work as the marines training area wi= ll consist of a dedicated gym and holo grid. Dermont: Are we installin' a fully interactive suite? :: Por'kus hung his head and shook it as he thought, oO Don't go giving the= man any crazy ideas. Just do the job the way he wants it. Oo :: Brell: The same kind of smaller hologrid as the security training one on de= ck four. Dermont: :: nodding :: Ah, ten four, sir. Tad bit easier, then. oO Thank the gods that the captain was an ex-engineer. He knew what was and= was not possible when it came to doing most engineering jobs. Oo Brell: Labs 14, and 15, are to be replaced by the Chief Marine officer's of= fice, and Marine armory/equipment lockers. As emergency transporter room 2 = is next to these spaces I'd like to give Atlantis Marines quick deployment = and rescue capabilities. The transporter room will connect directly to the = space and afterwards it will be redubbed the Marine Transporter Room. :: After another quick glance at the schematics Por'kus leaned his head bac= k against the wall behind him and closed his eyes. :: Brell: Lastly Lab thirteen; will be refitted into a proper Intelligence sui= te. Here we adding secure communications and classified access workstations= . The office will be left in for Lieutenant Danara to occupy but will also = need secure workstation access. Dermont: This is it, Capt'n? Was hoping fer a bit of a challenge! :: Por'kus opened his eyes and glanced in the young man's direction again. = oO A challenge is tryin to eat a dozen mammoth burgers or an entire Segolia= n sailfin all by yourself. This is just work and $%^&* work at that. Oo :: Dermont: ::He clapped his hands to get everyone's attention.:: Alright no= w! As soon as we're done here, if yer a team leader, I expect to see you i= n Holodeck one! We've got it fer the next several hours and we're gonna go= over these plans up one side and down the other! Sleep when yer dead, I'l= l have a pot o' Joe waitin' for all of us. Captain, are you expecting to h= ave this finished before leave is over? Brell: response. Dermont: ::nodding again.:: Can do, sir! In that case, permission to spe= ak freely, sir? Brell: response Dermont: :: he grinned to the Bolian captain :: If you've not forgotten h= ow then, sir...might I invite you down to Holodeck one to roll up yer sleev= es and get ready ta get dirty with the rest of the wrench jockeys? :: At that statement Por'kus stretched, yawned another massive yawn, then p= ushed himself off the ledge he was sitting on to land on his feet. :: Brell: response :: Por'kus reached back and scratched his backside for a moment before he s= tarted to make his way over to where his tool kit was. :: Dermont: reply Brell: reply TAG/TBC *********************************** PNPC - Junis Kov Por'kus Petty Officer, 3rd class Engineer USS Atlantis, NCC-74682 As simmed by Cmdr.
