BACKSIM ((Cmdr. Tel-ar's security office, USS Atlantis)) :: Tal sat reviewing all of the security plans in regards to the shore leav= e that the crew were going to be enjoying on the ice moon that the USS Atla= ntis was currently sitting on. By accessing the marines as a backup he was = able to give all of his security officers and the marines an equal and fair= division of time for shore leave. :: :: There had been a slight issue with the commander of the marine forces un= til Tal calmly reminded him that he was out ranked and it was an order not = a request. After that it had been fairly easy to create a work schedule tha= t guaranteed that all of the marines and security staff would have half of = the shore leave off. :: :: His plan had even been whole heartedly approved by the marine commander = once he had seen and read it, not that Tal really cared. For him the best p= art was being able to keep 2 shuttles prepped and staffed with a pilot, a m= arine, a security officer and a medic in case of any emergencies. :: :: With the USS Atlantis sitting on the surface of the ice moon its ability= to beam crew back in case of an emergency was greatly decreased. Having 2 = shuttles ready, each with their own transporters solved that issue. :: :: Next Tal glanced at the file that showed that some of the crew were goin= g to try climbing some of the nearby ice mountains. He reviewed the equipme= nt lists, added a few items that he knew they would need and a couple other= s just in case of an emergency. Then he gave his authorization approving it= from a security and safety point of view and closed the file before shutti= ng the computer off. :: :: For a moment he considered joining the crew that were going to do the cl= imbing, since that was how he planned to spend his free time as well but in= the end he decided that the last thing any of them needed was to have his= presence there dampening their fun. :: :: Tal stood up, stretched and then left his office. His equipment was alre= ady packed and the engineering department should have the special vehicle t= hat he had requested assembled and ready for him. All he needed to do was g= o get changed. :: ((Slight Time Jump - Corridor)) :: Tal was wearing his cold weather gear, including special cold weather bo= ots that fastened up just below his knees. These boots were specially desig= ned with ice and climbing in mind. His gloves, hat, face mask and goggles w= ere in the large cargo pockets of his parka and the hood was pushed back fr= om his head allowing his antenna to move, smell and hear as normal. :: :: When he entered the lift the 1st officer was already on it. :: Williams: reply Tel-ar: Lt. Commander. :: Tal replied in greeting. :: Williams: reply Tel-ar: No. I have found that most junior staff prefer to not have senior o= fficers hovering around when they are trying to relax and enjoy shore leave= . Williams: reply Tel-ar: As we were descending I scanned the planet's surface. There is a tr= uly impressive set of mountains 536 miles north west of this location.
