*((Deck 34 Section 5 - USS Constitution))* ::Now that they had a system, it was short work to dislodge and disable the remaining Navigational Signal Processors, and like the first one, they soon lie broken and inert on the deck. Smiling widely through the heavy breaths that came from the exertion, Eden Taylor noted with satisfaction that the heady thrum of the ship's engines ruminating through the ship had instantly spooled down and fallen quiet.:: Taylor: Wow, that was fun! What can we break next? T'Aven: We won't break anything, Cadet. ::She raised her hand and tapped her badge.:: =/\= T'Aven to bridge. =/\= Ezirah: =/\= Bridge here, it worked, Lieutenant. =/\= T'Aven: =/\= I know. Call Starbase 104 and request to be held and pulled in by a tractor beam. =/\= Ezirah: =/\= Yes, Ma'am. Bridge out. =/\= ::With the exhilaration of a successful mission and her adrenaline starting to wind down, Eden looked at the rent and broken components that lie strewn on the floor and finally felt a pang of regret. Yes, they had stopped a mad computer program from stealing the ship and taking it who knows where, but had she been too rash?:: Taylor: Er, Commander, is this really going to be that hard to fix? T'Aven: ::Looking to the processors on the ground she picked one up without trouble and turned it.:: I believe they are unusable, even if the person who attempted to command the ship away tried to place them in their sockets. Some connections are missing or torn. Taylor: ::meekly:: That means repairs will be difficult. And we're stuck until they are done. T'Aven: Repairs will begin when the situation is under control without a doubt. ::It was important for Eden that she took responsibility for her rash decision to sabotage the processors without T'Aven's blessing, when a bit more time and thought might have seen them simply remove them without damage. She had been over-enthusiastic, and though the end result had been positive, there would undoubtedly be grumbling engineers over the method utilized. She wanted to ensure that the command staff knew that she was at fault, and not T'Aven.:: Taylor: Let me be the one to tell Commander Traenor. Please. It's important to me that he finds out that I made the decision to wreck the components rather than remove them delicately. ::She hoped that T'Aven would see the logic in that, and not feel compelled to take responsibility on her own shoulders.:: T'Aven: ::she inclined her head.:: You may. I will note your positive contribution in my report. Taylor: Thank you, Commander. I'll go track him down now. It looks like we've done enough damage here for the time being, anyways. T'Aven: If you need me, I'll be on the bridge, Cadet. ::She turned to take a step before she halted, but didn't turn back.:: And it is Lieutenant, not Commander. ::Eden truly looked at T'Aven's pips for the first time, and realized that they were non-standard. Marines, perhaps? She reddened slightly, both for presuming all along and for being too obtuse to notice before now.:: Taylor: Sorry, Lieutenant. I still have plenty to learn, apparently. ::flashing an apologetic smile:: I'll know where to find you if I need you. ::Eden let the fit Vulcan get a good head start on her returning upwards through the ship; no need for her to see the cadet struggle as much or more on the way up as she did on the way down. Plus, it would give her a few minute's quiet contemplation on how she was going to apologize to those poor engineers.:: *Cdt Eden Taylor* *USS Constitution* *~as simmed by~* *LtCmdr Maxwell TraenorBridge Officer, USS Constitution* *A239111MT0* -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "UFOP: StarBase 118 - USS Constitution-B" group.
