(( Holodeck 1 - USS Constitution )) ::Thankfully, T'Reshik missed the first few outbreaks of poetry in favour of following Horne off to the side, otherwise she might have been slightly less inclined to actually help Saveron at all. She trotted along behind him, watching the way he inspected the stone wall around the entrance as the others moved in.:: T'Reshik: What are you doing? Horne: Oh, just playing with my theory that there might be some kind of secondary tunnel into the lair. I figure the dwarfs would have added some sort of secret escape route. Maybe we can find it and use it. ::She quirked an eyebrow. It was, she concurred, probably a better use of their time than trying to follow a half-audible poetry slam. Horne pressed his ear against the wall, and spoke again after a moment.:: Horne: Nervous? T'Reshik: Never. ::Well, not since she was about eleven years old. T'Reshik tended toward "frustrated" or "overconfident" rather than nervous. But she wasn't about to have an in-depth conversation about emotions with a human in a LARP costume.:: Horne: My human side is very nervous but this orc personality can't wait to get in there. T'Reshik: Interesting. This scenario appears to be having a profound psychological effect on many of the participants. ::Jacob knocked along the wall in the manner of someone testing for weak spots - well, since that was exactly what he was doing, it wasn't too surprising. T'Reshik kept her attention on the background noise, listening for breaks in the poetic meter that might indicate an impending battle.:: ::A few rocks tumbled down - Jacob rapped at the same spot a little harder, and seemed about to turn round and address her, but the captain's voice interrupted whatever he was going to say.:: Rajel: Now! ::T'Reshik turned her horse and sped in, hanging back only momentarily for Horne. She kept her ears and eyes open as she made a quick visual survey for Saveron - aha! Still in that disconcertingly appealing long wig and flimsy robe, still in one piece. Nearby, the clang of metal on stone reverberated through the room as a shimmering light sprung up around Teryn Vehk.:: Vehk: Go. Stay inside the shield. Young: Alright, follow me and stay close, I have an idea! ::Young charged up, quickly followed by Vehk, as T'Reshik, Jalana and Horne broke away from them and took a different route, hopefully splitting the dragon's attention enough to be able to get in and get the Commander.:: [datafrag]: qaStaH nuq?! What are you doing to me you filthy, dishonourable little insects?! Atan: That didn't rhyme. Young:: Oi! Scaleface! ::Presenting the egg.:: I heard you liked shiny things you oversized reptilian dinosaur! I have here one genuine golden Roc egg that I'm sure you just need to add to your little horde here. Want it? ::T'Reshik's klingon was... sub-standard, really, so she couldn't work out exactly what the dragon was screaming as it surged toward Young and left Saveron unguarded, but she was fairly sure it wasn't complimentary, given the tone and context.:: Young:: Steady on pepperhead! ::To Vehk:: Run! ::Coins skittered and rolled around them, disturbed into motion by various pairs of feet. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Vehk slip and almost fall, only to keep himself upright with the staff. Grenades detonated just at the edge of T'Reshik's view, and she gritted her teeth and pulled at the horse's reins to keep its mind on the mission. (Hopefully that was how you kept a horse from getting distracted. T'Reshik wasn't sure. It seemed to work on hologramatic ones, anyway.):: ::The beast's great body shifted between Team Rajel and Saveron again, and T'Reshik curved round further to keep herself out of tail-slash range. She shouted out a command above the chaos.:: T'Reshik: You need to draw it away! Horne/Rajel/Saveron/Foster/Choi/Vehk/datafrag: ? Atan: I suggest we hit it with all we have. Young: Gladly! ::A volley of arrows loosened in the background. More coins skittered as Teryn joined Young again.:: Sindri:: I don't actually think anyone is holding back at this poin= t we just need to do it together! Vehk: Ardaris! ::The dragon veered to the side. T'Reshik saw her opening. Screw teamwork - she needed to get Saveron out of danger, and being encased in a highly thermally conductive material whilst in close vicinity to something that could breathe goddamn fire was not going to be an obstacle to that. She whipped at the horse's reins and surged forward.:: ::In the background, she heard someone inquire as to the success of Young's arrows, and then the telling sound of a bow being hurriedly ditched.:: Horne/Rajel/Saveron/Foster/Choi/datafrag/any: ? Young: Uhh, nope. ::Putting herself firmly between the dragon and Saveron, T'Reshik reached out a gauntleted hand to the other Vulcan and braced herself against the horse, ready for Saveron to climb onto it.:: T'Reshik: Up. Now. ::This was no time for pleasantries. Well, there was never any time for pleasantries, according to T'Reshik - but especially not now.:: ::And that was when Ardaris struck. The sound of ice against fire sizzled through the air, and then, a moment later, flames erupted across the piles of treasure - coming straight for them.:: ::T'Reshik squeezed her eyes shut, expecting a blast of heat, and as she hurriedly attempted to drag the still-standing Saveron against the horse in the hope that she and it might partially protect him against the blast, the thought popped into her head that getting covered in horrible burns was probably worth at least two standard incidences of life-saving, so at least they'd be even. Well, if Vulcans cared about that kind of thing. Which they didn't. Honest.:: ::Fire seared into her vision. T'Reshik braced herself for pain - and felt nothing except heat. She looked over to see Teryn's shield cutting through the flames, the line of which only just missed them now. Still, the sound her horse made indicated that the gold beneath their feet had quickly become hot enough to cause some serious problems, and - oh yes, that was smoke coming from the hem of Saveron's robe. And - :: T'Reshik: ::pointing:: Fire! Jalana/Saveron/Horne: ? ::Behind them, the rest of the flames died down abruptly. A small sound not unlike an Earth kitten emanated from Teryn's direction. (T'Reshik didn't give it too much thought. Maybe that was just something Cardassians did.):: Sindri: ::In the background, gripping grenades in both hands.:: O= r do that? Young: ::To Vehk:: Oh wow.. If it wasn't for you, I'd be toast. Vehk: ::panting, both from the heat and from the surprise they hadn=E2=80= =99t just been turned to toast.:: You're welcome. Atan: I think it's dead. Sindri: I'm not too sure about that.. ::He looked about carefully.:= : This game has rules, so something should change if we achieve a goal? Atan: Let's hope the simulation plays by the rules and lets us out now. Young: ::Sighing:: That would be nice. ::The sound of coins shifting, someone climbing. T'Reshik looked round as Rajel and Horne dealt with Saveron.:: Vehk: Stand back. ::She saw Vehk raise his staff and slam it into the dragon's eye. Being already dead, it didn't react, but T'Reshik mentally commended his conscientious approach to making sure of that fact.:: Any: ? Vehk: Are we able to issue commands to the program now? Atan: :: hopefully :: Door? ::T'Reshik silently extended a hand to Saveron again, glancing down at his feet, which... Well, if the dress was flammable, it wasn't too surprising that the shoes had been too.:: Any: ? Yito: Computer end program. Any: ? Yito: Maybe we need to do something else. Unite the queen and king or something. But I'm no expert at these games. Any: ? Vehk: Given the dragon was speaking in Klingon ::He fell silent fo= r a long moment.:: Perhaps Commander Saveron knows more. ::Vehk approached them and bowed his head.:: Vehk: Commander. I trust you are unharmed? Saveron/Jalana/Horne: ?
