(( USS Constitution-B, Demonstration room 12 )) Milsap: oO I'm gettin' way too old for this. Oo :: Jerry breathed in gasps and his legs felt like rubber as he moved at a s= low jog toward the demonstration rooms. Without even knowing it, Emma had l= ed him on a merry chase around the ship. While her holographic body was abl= e to move through walls and floors whenever it was convenient, Jerry had to= take the long way around every obstacle while trying to keep pace with her= . At least he didn't have to worry about Emma seeing him as he tailed her, = because he'd never even caught sight of her the entire time. It was only by= calibrating his tricorder to trace the rogue EMH's magnetic containment fi= eld that he was able to know where she was headed. When he thought back to = the murderous glare she'd fixed him with when he attempted to shut down her= program, he was just fine with not confronting her directly. At long last, Emma's magnetic signature stopped moving. Jerry pushed himsel= f to his limit knowing the chase was nearly over. He just hoped he had enou= gh breath left to report the situation back to Commander Traenor. He slowed= his pace as he approached Emma's position. She was definitely in one of th= e demonstration rooms up ahead. Judging from the tricorder readings, he gue= ssed she was in room 12, along with whoever she was after with that laser b= one cutter. Disturbingly, the tricorder was now showing two holograms in th= e room. He frowned, wondering who the second one could be. Its signature di= dn't match that of an EMH, so that ruled out Mark, thankfully. As he neared= the door he struggled to get his breathing under control. Sweat was pourin= g down his face, but his blood ran cold when he heard voices coming from in= side the room. Children's voices. :: Milsap: oO Oh, no. Oo :: He braced his back against the wall and paged Traenor on his badge, spea= king as quietly as he could. :: Milsap: ::panting:: =3D/\=3D Commander Traenor...Emma's in...demonstration = room 12. She's armed...and the kids are in there. =3D/\=3D Traenor: =3D/\=3D ? =3D/\=3D Milsap: =3D/\=3D There's another...hologram, too. Is there any...security a= vailable? =3D/\=3D Traenor: =3D/\=3D ? =3D/\=3D Milsap: =3D/\=3D All right. I'm pretty sure...I can get her attention. Out.= =3D/\=3D :: Jerry closed the call and got back on his feet. He wasn't able to keep E= mma distracted in the sick bay, but now he had a chance to make up for it. = He didn't have much choice, anyway. The stakes were too high now. If Emma w= as going to hurt someone, he'd much rather it be him than one of the childr= en. :: Emma: I am here for the one called Saavok. My Lord decrees it is time to e= nd your life, and the Baron is an incompetent fool. :: That was his cue. Jerry had no idea who the Baron was, and he didn't hav= e time to think about it. He stepped into full view in the open doorway and= quickly scanned the scene. Emma was closest to the door with her back to h= im, and beyond that he could see at least four kids and...a magician? Then = he spotted Commander Mason and a felt a spark of hope. With any luck he cou= ld keep Emma busy while the commander came up with some kind of plan, becau= se he had nothing. Just then, a memory of his brother Billy leaped unbidden= to his mind, a piece of advice he remembered from his childhood. :: Billsap: Remember, if ya can't do somethin' smart, just do somethin' stupid= . :: Jerry grimaced. There was a reason he never followed much of Billy's adv= ice. Still, he knew he had to act, and fast. He raised his arm to point at = Emma and shouted out the most clever thing he could think of at the moment.= :: Milsap: Stop, you jerk! :: He froze, glancing around the room self-consciously. If he survived the = next few minutes he'd make it a point to work on his one-liner skills. :: Emma/Ditala/Saavok/Mason/Nishi/Vija: ?
