Find an error in sim? Report it!
((Main Sickbay =E2=80=93 USS Constitution-B)) ((OOC: Ed is going to be a little magic here, and be somewhat two places at once but I'm sure it's nothing to be alarmed about. Nope. Nothing weird going on here at all.) ::Ed sat staring at his screen with determined concentration. On it was a complex surgical sequence. He was expected to find the error or errors in the sequence, then replace it with the correct steps. It was one of the simpler tasks he'd already been assigned since taking on the fellowship was it required a high level of attention to detail and presence of mind.:: Foster: Spears, you still here? ::Ed looked up from the screen, hazarding a glance at the chrono. He'd done it again. He'd stayed much later than he'd been planning. Also wasn't Wyn supposed to be off on a shuttle?:: Spears: I- Yeah I'm still here. I really shouldn't be though. Studying again... Speaking of being in places we shouldn't be, didn't the shuttles already take off? Foster: Yeah, the shuttles did launch. ::he nodded assent:: And yeah, I know I'm not on them. Spears: So..... ::he drew in a breath. Now Ed was concerned. Wyn Foster was many things, but undisciplined was not one of them. There was no way he'd simply not turn up for the launch of a mission he'd been assigned to. Something else was going on...:: Foster: I got new orders, Spears. ::He sighed:: Starfleet needs an experienced medical officer to help launch a new ship and my name was picked out of the hat. I leave in four hours. Spears: ::Ed smiled. He saw what was happening. Wyn was pulling some kind of practical joke.:: Ohhh, right. Well you know Starfleet... ::Wyn's expression didn't change. There was no grin. No laugh. No 'you got me'. Oh...:: You're serious... ::he nodded slowly:: Foster: Yeah, I'm serious. ::he sighed and offered over the door k= ey:: This is your sickbay now, Spears. The crew is in your hands. I know you can do this. Spears: I- ::Ed really wanted to say something profound, but the words failed him:: I'll try. I was hoping we'd get a lot more time together. And there's the fellowship... ::he offered a small smile, tipping his antennae forward:: Foster: Well, do the best you can. I know, I was gonna teach you, but I=E2= =80=99m sure you'll find your way. Besides, my Dad's staying on at= StarBase 104 for a while and he's a way better teacher than I am =E2=80=93 he=E2= =80=99ll get you the surgical skills you need. But you =E2=80=93 you have the heart that this s= hip needs. ::He paused, putting a hand on Edward's shoulder:: Do me pr= oud, Spears. Spears: I will. ::As Ed said it, he knew he would throw everything he had into this ship and her crew. This was a unique chance to do something most junior medical officers never got to, and he wasn't about to let it go to waste. Ed extended his hand and gave Wyn and enthusiastic handshake, his eyes full of emotion. He hadn't known the Andorian physician for very long in the grand scheme of things, but Wyn had made a fundamental impact on Ed's life. He would miss the sometimes grumpy, often cynical but always compassionate doctor.:: Spears: Take care of yourself. And if you ever need anything at all, I'm just a subspace message away. End?
