The last resort sort, as it were. :: One called in the Marines, when all avenues of diplomacy and conversation failed, or when one's opponents left the Federation and Starfleet no choice but to respond with force. It was a point that some in= the Federation and even Starfleet were not too keen on the existence of the= Corps, in the midst of their utopian peaceful society. Even though many of= their neighbors had much more martial tendencies. Still, Elias was proud to= be a Marine. Even though it cost him two limbs, he was proud. He had served= to fight, so others could explore, and research, heal and make new contact= with new lifeforms.
