*((Corridor, USS Constitution-B))* ::Despite his tiredness, running into his old first officer and friend T'Mar was a joy for Alex. It has been years since Alex had seen her= , and they had a lot to catch up on. As they spoke, things eventually turned to their careers, and then to their current assignments. That's when t= hing turned to their captain, Jalana Rajel.:: T'Mar: Yes, Jalana is quite different than Captain Frost was. She c= an be.. A handful. ::As she finished, Alex tried but failed to hold back a laugh. T'Ma= r had gotten funnier than he remembered.:: Blair: That might be a bit of an understatement T'Mar. T'Mar: I have an advantage in that we were friends before my transf= er, but that only goes so far. ::Alex nodded.:: Blair: I can adjust to calling everyone, including her by their first names, but after this mission if she thinks I'm going to stand by a= nd let her go on an away team again she's in for a big fight. T'Mar: That is a.. Relief to hear. When I saw the reports, I was no= t pleased myself. I did have to object to her whims quite often. ::Alex smiled. It was nice to know that he wasn't the only one not = entirely happy with the captain's away team capers.:: Blair: Any insights you have on how to win that argument? T'Mar: To start, change your definition of =E2=80=9Cwin=E2=80=9D ::Alex looked at the Vulcan woman with a quizzical expression.:: Blair: Has logic failed you T'Mar? Last time I checked, there was o= nly one definition for the word win. T'Mar: Not logical, but true. I viewed it more like a negotiation. ::Alex nodded starting to understand what she was trying to say.:: Blair: A negotiation huhthat's an interesting way of going= about it. T'Mar: If she was insisting on going, then I would insist to come a= long or send someone I could trust to protect her. ::Alex smiled.:: Blair: I could get behind that, but it's still no substitution for = the safety provided if she would just stay behind. T'Mar: No, but it it is better than her running off without my prot= ection. ::Alex looked at T'Mar quizzically again.:: Blair: Are you volunteering for EVERY away mission the captain choses to go on then? T'Mar: Response ::Alex grinned at her response.:: Blair: Of course, that wouldn't be reasonable would it. T'Mar: Response Blair: At any rate, I appreciate the advice. I'll definitely take n= ote of it and likely use it in the future. T'Mar: Response ::Alex nodded and decided to change the subject.:: Blair: Any big plans once we arrive at the station? T'Mar: Not in particular. I believe my partner, Zage, intends to ha= ve us go to a restaurant at some point, but that is the extent of it. You? Blair: No big plans, though the cadet suggested I look into some skiing. Anything you recommend I check out while we are there? T'Mar: There are so many options, I have yet to visit them all. But= I have heard the Mountain Range is nice. ::Alex nodded before stifling a yawn.:: Blair: I think we should set aside some time while we are there to catch up some more. T'Mar: I agree. Blair: How about we meet up for lunch one day? T'Mar: There is a restaurant in the Promenade that is supposed to r= esemble Paris. Perhaps that would please you? ::Alex thought for a moment. French food wasn't his favorite but it= had been a long time, and it was definitely better than some of the options that were likely available on the station.:: Blair: That sounds good to me. ::Alex yawned again this time unable to stifle it.:: T'Mar: You are fatigued. Blair: I guess the day has finally caught up with me. T'Mar: Go rest, my friend. We have plenty of time to catch up. ::Alex grinned, just before yawning again.:: Blair: I think I will, if I keep this up I'll be lucky to get back = to my quarters without falling asleep. T'Mar: Response Blair: Have a good night T'Mar. T'Mar: Response? =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Commander Alex Blair Executive Officer USS Constitution-B Writer ID: T238906AB0 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "= UFOP: StarBase 118 - USS Constitution-B" group.
