Lystra's gaze swept across the restaurant, noting how extravagant the place was. It had a selection of different size= tables with fancy white table cloths, candles, all set up with fine cutlery= and wine glasses. The walls were filled with art work, some of natural sights and others more abstract and there were fine sculptures placed around the room. A bit of crimson heated up her cheeks when she realized it= was the sort of place people went to eat for dates and she glanced at the= woman beside her, wondering if she'd totally misjudged the reason for them= grabbing lunch. Lystra was certainly under dressed for such a place, but then, so was Seja, so she was puzzled to say the least. She saw Seja meet= her gaze and spotted the embarrassment in her expression. :: *Yito*: I didn't realise *oO *See, Lys. She's not interested. Calm down.. *Oo* :: Yito was interrupted when the finely dressed server approached them with= a set of menus. Lystra gave them an embarrassed smile and stayed quiet. :: *Server*: Table for 2? *Yito*: Sure :: The server lead them to a small table for two with a views out of the large window of the on-goings on the promenade outside. He handed them each two menus one for drinks and one for food. He lit the candle between= them and disappeared. Seeing the candle being lit, she felt heat in her cheeks again and quickly held one of the menus in front of her face to hide= behind it. :: *Yito*: Sorry, T'Seva never mentioned this place was so posh. :: Embarrassed feeling her cheeks heating up. :: *Lystra*: ::She lowered the menu to look at her:: Oh..it's alright. I don't= mind. I never get brought to places like this anyways, so don't feel bad.= ::She smiled, her cheeks still flushed:: I can't recall the last time I had= Betazoid cuisine. *Yito*: I served on Betazed for a year after finishing at the academy so was craving this sort of food. *Lystra*: Oh, that's awesome! I've heard the lakes there are amazing. ::She= caught herself giggling:: *oO* What is wrong with you Lys? *Oo* *Yito*: It has got beautiful landscape from jungles and gardens. As well= as amazing lakes but there are other planets with amazing lakes including= Earth. *Lystra*: Well, being a space-brat, I don't think I saw my first large body= of water until I was twelve or something. It was a really big lake on Rigel= eight. :: Lystra's eyes widened a bit, hoping to the stars that Seja didn't know= Rigel VIII was another name for Orion Prime. She buried her face behind the= menu again, more so she could silently berate herself and compose herself a= bit before looking over the top to the Human Bajoran. :: *Yito*: Ah, my parents felt it was important I was introduced to planets from a young age. My father would make an effort to plan routes so we stopped at a variety of places over the years from sandy deserts to snowy= mountains to jungles and lakes. *Lystra*: Hmm, interesting. But then, I guess it's natural since your folks= likely grew up on planets. Most of my people are born, live and die in space on ships. Too much wanderlust I suppose. I even read at the Academy= that *Voyager* ran across some of my people in the Delta Quadrant. ::She shrugged:: I can't stand planets. *Yito*: The truth be told I found the places interesting although intimidating with all the open space. I was always happy to come home to our cabin at the end of it. *Lystra*: Right? ::She said emphatically:: They're too big and they aren't= properly climate controlled. And they don't move. I mean, of course they move through space and rotate, but you can't feel it. A ship, you can feel= how she moves. I can't stand having to go more than a few months without gravitic plating at my feet. *Yito*: Over the years I've become more comfortable on planets. We= moved to Bajor when I was 9 for a year and that was a shock to the system. I spent 4 years on Earth for the academy and a year on Betazed. But home will always be a cabin on a spacecraft. *Lystra*: Lucky. I guess. I don't think I'll ever like planets. I'm too at= home among the stars. :: The server returned and Lystra realized she hadn't even given a thought= to what she wanted to eat. A slight blush brightened her porcelain cheeks= and she glanced between the server and her shipmate. :: *Server*: Have you decided on your drinks? *Yito*: I'll have a Jalara Fire :: Lystra smirked at the choice, since they were in a Betazoid restaurant= it made sense. And she recalled the last time she'd had a few Warp Core breaches. So she deigned to be a bit more cautious. Despite how nervous she= was. :: *Lystra*: Oh, uh. I'll have a Tycho Sunset. :: The server gave them both a nod and walked off to tend to their order.= The Boslic brushed a few gloved fingers through her hair, pulling the lavender curtain away from her face and over an ear as she looked back to= Seja. :: *Lystra*: So, uh. How are you feeling? *Yito*: response *Lystra*: Well, you had an alien computer or artificial consciousness, or= something in your head. You were obviously cleared by the docs, but still.= ::She asked, concern in her sparkling eyes and expression:: *Yito*: response *((tags/tbc))* *=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D* *Lieutenant JG Lystra* *Tactical Officer* *USS Constitution-B NCC-9012-B* *SB118 Podcast Team * *Writer ID: A239410TR0* *https://wiki.starbase118.net/wiki/index.php?title=3DLystra * -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "= UFOP: StarBase 118 - USS Constitution-B" group.
